Three things you should know about your credit!

I established my credit early on, with a stellar score. After moving to NYC, my score DROPPED- for a number of reasons. Two years later, and all that's left to pay is Nordstrom & Chase (😁YAY). 1. Utilization Do not exceed 30% of your limit. Going over 30% will decrease your score. If your limit is $1,500, your balance should remain at $450 or below. This also goes for your debit to income ratio. Your rent shouldn't exceed 30% of your income. 2. Payments! It's better to pay in installments rather to pay in full. Proves you're responsible & accountable. Payments are what ultimately builds your credit. 3. Age. The age of your credit history is most important. Whichever account you've had the longest maintain it. CONSISTENCY is always key. Sign up for credit karma to keep an eye on your credit, while planning and setting financial goals.
